Parish Council defies voters

At its meeting on 28 June, Hyde Parish Council decided unanimously to ignore the result of the vote at the Annual Parish meeting in favour of the very moderate motion “that the Council should now formally suspend its support for the project until all the necessary assessments have been satisfactorily completed and published, and satisfactory answers have been received to all the questions asked.” (see post of 27 May, below). We regard this as willful disregard of the views of the electorate, and invite you to make your views on the matter known to the Council members.
