The Forestry Commission claim that the work they are planning is necessary because Latchmore Brook is “disconnected from its flood plain”.

The Friends of Latchmore do not believe that this is the case.  Their view is well illustrated by photos of the brook taken on 25 April 2012, after early morning rain clearly showing the brook extending well into its flood plain.  See below:
