We have written to Hyde Parish Council drawing its attention to important information in recent presentments made to the Verderers’ Court and asking the Councillors yet again to consider withdrawing their unqualified support for the Latchmore project.
Presentments to the Verderers’ Court on 18 July challenged the Forestry Commission’s intention to carry out major work on Latchmore Brook without first working on the drainage network in the upstream Inclosures.
A Press Release entitled Latchmore “saved by the rain” – for the moment was issued on 16 July and at the Verderers’ Court on 18 July, presentments were made by Ailsa Farrand, Dai Morgan and Michael Mayes.
The Forestry Commission has issued a Press Release, announcing that they have decided to defer work on the main Latchmore stream until 2013. However, they still intend to proceed with work on the Thompson’s Castle mires, and we shall continue … Continue reading
